Meet the wedding fairy:
Veronique started her career at Veranda Resorts in 2014, working on a unique concept for 3*& 4* hotels at the time in Mauritius: the complete assistance of future brides and grooms by a person dedicated to the organization of their big day in each hotel of the group.
Her role today is to advise our guests prior to their arrival and help them choose the wedding package that best meets their expectations, then decide on optional services available at Veranda Resorts such as flower bouquets, beauty treatments, entertainment, photos… and to guide them in their administrative procedures.
Veronique is creative and likes challenges. Any idea being good to take, she notes the slightest wishes of the future spouses so that this long-awaited moment is the most beautiful day of their lives! Jovial and cheerful by nature, she knows how to put her clients at ease and reassure them by always making herself available. Her talents as a wedding planner cannot go unnoticed… and these precious memories, these moments of a lifetime, remain engraved in the memory of the bride and groom.
In conversation with Veronique:
How many weddings have you organized for Veranda Resorts?
Since 2014, I have organized more than 900 weddings in Veranda Resorts hotels.
Could you describe in a few words the special features of each hotel?
Each hotel offers an idyllic, unique and friendly setting as a ceremony venue.
I would say that Veranda Grand Baie (closed for renovation until July 2023) offers a beautiful panorama over the bay of Grand Baie and a tropical cocoon atmosphere, Veranda Pointe aux Biches and Veranda Paul & Virginie are spread over the most beautiful beaches of the North coast, Veranda Pointe aux Biches has its adult only wing with a beautiful beach and private pool, Paul & Virginie has its own beautiful infinity pool and beach restaurant, while Veranda Palmar Beach faces the beautiful lagoon on the east coast and a pristine beach of fine sand.
What is your most beautiful wedding memory?
I organized the wedding of the same couple twice, the first time for their symbolic wedding and the second time, 2 years later, for their civil wedding. I also met my husband at a wedding I organized in a Veranda Resorts hotel. Love at first sight in Mauritius!
And your biggest challenge?
At one wedding, we had the room safe locked a few hours before the wedding ceremony. You can imagine what was carefully kept inside… or even a big electrical storm half an hour before the wedding ceremony.
Would you have any advice for couples who want to get married in Mauritius?
Some of the most important tips for me would be to consider the outfits and shoes they will wear on the wedding day, especially if the ceremony is on the beach. They need to feel comfortable above all!
For civil weddings, the couple should have all the original documents in their possession when going through the formalities.
I would recommend arranging their wedding at the beginning of their stay, to avoid any stress during the honeymoon and to enjoy the beauty of our island afterwards. We have a range of immersive experiences for them to try at the hotel…
