British Airways Award

The British Airways Holidays Customer Excellence Award 2022 is a recognition of the hotel’s commitment to providing memorable experiences that promote guest well-being. The award is based on unbiased customer reviews collected by Feefo, an independent and impartial third-party company. Guests are asked to rate hotels on location, service, cleanliness, sleep quality and overall experience.
Based on customer feedback, the overall rating of 4.6/5 stars underscores the excellent service, facilities and customer experience offered by Veranda Paul and Virginia throughout the year.
The scenic village of Grand Gaube

It’s in the heart of the small fishing village of Grand Gaube, in the north of Mauritius, that the hotel Veranda Paul et Virginie is nestled. For adults only, this 4-star hotel is the favorite place for couples looking for serenity and privacy. Grand Gaube is historically known as the place where traditional wooden ships called pirogues were made. Their colorful puffed-up sails are best admired during the village regattas.
From the hotel, you may opt for going along the beach, and its small, rocky coves that punctuate the coastline of this region. In the busy streets, Creole conversations resound like songs. Down on the beach, in the church square, children zigzag through parked cars and bikes as they chase after a balloon. Discover this authentic, simple, and charming culture in Grand Gaube.
Paul & Virginie

The name of the hotel is an emblem in itself: Paul et Virginie is a famous novel first published in 1788 by French Romantic author Bernardin de St-Pierre. It tells the story of two young lovers living in Mauritius, formerly known as “Isle de France” (hence the name of the hotel’s main restaurant).
Veranda Paul et Virginie pays homage to these fictional lovebirds with portraits of the couple in its rooms and common areas. Also on display is a model of Le Saint Géran, a ship featured in Bernardin de St-Pierre’s novel; it was wrecked off the coast of Grand Gaube, a stone’s throw from the hotel, in 1744.
