How are you feeling ahead of the reopening?
I’m excited and looking forward to this reopening. We are working hard with our team members to be ready to welcome our first guests on the 1st of July! I promise you; Veranda Grand Baie will be a little tropical gem in the buzzy Grand Baie.
Can you tell us more about the Creole-chic concept?
Authentic Mauritian, Tropical bliss, Elegance refined.
The idea is to offer different key areas with different atmospheres, each of them bringing value to the Mauritian culture, highlighting local culinary experiences with a touch of refinement.
What are the key experiences guests will be living?
Experiences that showcase the culture and traditions of our island: from a step back in time to discover our history, to a Mauritian barbecue foot in the sand, we want our guests to feel Mauritian! Grand Baie is also well known for its nightlife, we’ll propose our guests to experience it and connect with the locals. The culinary experiences will also be a must at Veranda Grand Baie!
What are the best specialties they’ll have the chance to taste?
At the kiosk, our guests will enjoy authentic Mauritian street food, from candied fruits to grated ice with syrup, traditional tea and local delicacies made by an NGO we are proud to work with! This kiosk will highlight the simplicity of the Mauritian way of life.
Food Comptoir, our main restaurant, will offer our guests an international culinary experience, not forgetting our Mauritian local cuisine.
Lazy lobster beach restaurant will offer a dining experience facing the bay. Here you’ll enjoy Mauritian classics such as Crab soup, Grilled Honeycomb Grouper salad not forgetting a delicious and perfectly grilled lobster, which are all a must try when in Mauritius.
What will be the best place to sip a cocktail?
I’ll answer La Crique, our beachfront bar with a spectacular view over the bay! Comfortably seated next to the infinity pool, our lucky guests will try our rum cocktail selection, uniquely crafted by the best distillery on the island. The sunsets here are incredible!
