Veranda Resorts’ celebrates it’s 40 years of existence and contribution to the development of the Mauritian hospitality industry in 2022. To commemorate this milestone, the group has created an exceptional offer of -40% for any stay in a Veranda hotel booked before September 1, 2022, and showcases Mauritian artists every week in its hotels, through unique performances with local flavors. A social media campaign has also been launched from June to October to highlight 40 milestone for the brand.

Retrospective of the group

Veranda Resorts is the story of a company committed to family entrepreneurship that was born in Grand-Baie in 1982: the Veranda Bungalow Village. Forty years later, the brand has revamped the boutique hotel industry in Mauritius. Four more properties were added, including Veranda Paul and Virginie in 2000, Veranda Palmar Beach in 2001, Veranda Pointe aux Biches in 2004, and Veranda Tamarin in 2016. Today, Veranda Resorts looks forward to the future with confidence, with a strong focus on sustainability and inclusion.

Testimonial from the Hotel Managers

On the group’s 40th anniversary, the four Hotel Managers spoke out to celebrate another decade and share with us their ambition for the next 40 years.

“I am very proud to be part of this prestigious group.”

In 40 years, I see Veranda Resorts growing and establishing more hotels on the island and in the Indian Ocean region. My wish would be that this group becomes the leader in sustainable and inclusive development. A group where it is good to work, and which will always advocate essential values, such as respect, hospitality and solidarity. Veranda Resorts is a reference for the tourism industry, especially in terms of sustainability, human development and authentic experiences. For me, it’s like my second home. I have learned a lot here. Personally, I am very proud to be part of this prestigious group.

Dimitri Vaulbert, Veranda Palmar

“This group represents my purpose”

Veranda Resorts is an authentic brand, faithful to Mauritian hospitality and know-how. We feel at home here. Despite the various developments, acquisitions, management changes and other economic upheavals, we have managed to preserve our values and our roots. This group represents my raison d’être, the link between my know-how and the transmission of the elders. Within 40 years, I see it reaching new heights. This will only be possible if we have a sense of belonging and are always on the lookout for new opportunities and visitors looking for a boutique hotel.

Elodie Sooriah, Veranda Paul et Virginie

“Veranda Resorts embraces the Mauritian way of life”.

Veranda Resorts is a hotel brand that embraces the Mauritian way of life. There are many opportunities to grow and build a career while promoting “Mauritianism”. Moreover, it is a brand that grows its talents while being prosperous. In 40 years, I see the group being a pioneer in sustainable tourism, moving to 4+ stars. We also want to advance in terms of technology and be recognized as one of the best companies in the industry. Our goal is to be the number one choice in the hearts of Mauritians and internationally for visitors seeking an authentic vacation.

Percy Carriapen, Veranda Pointe aux Biches:

“We want to be ‘your home away from home'”

Human values are extremely important among the team members at Veranda Resorts. These values are reflected in the greeting, the service and the creation of “Mauments” for our clients in a place where we want to be “your home away from home”. We are one big family with an undeniable spirit of caring.” Since my arrival in 2019, I have seen many improvements: the restructuring of the Head Office, our digital transition and the prioritization of sustainability. In 40 years, we have to continue to strengthen the combination of all our business areas in the Rogers Hospitality Group by offering turnkey stays. We will continue to challenge ourselves to remain among the best.

The five Veranda Resorts hotels around the island

Veranda Pointe-aux-Biches, 4 stars

Veranda Pointe aux Biche, Mauritius

Take off your shoes to feel the sand under your feet and be instantly anchored to the earth and the beneficial energies emanating from the ground. To finally be free of all worries to start your long-awaited vacation. This is the particular and innovative concept of the Veranda Pointe aux Biches hotel. Nestled in the northwest of the island, between two fishing villages, the hotel is a haven of peace. The setting? Chic and tropical, between garden and beachfront. The must: the sunset aperitif, with a breathtaking view of the lagoon of Grand Bay, and the Île aux Bijoux in the middle.

Veranda Paul et Virginie, 4 stars

Veranda Paul & Virginie Mauritius

The Veranda Paul et Virginie hotel got its name from Bernardin de Saint-Pierre’s pastoral novel, “Paul et Virginie”, published in 1788 and inspired by the wreck of the famous Saint Géran, a ship of the East India Company, off the northeast coast of Mauritius, in August 1744. The ship lies off the island of Amber, near the village of Grand Gaube, where the Veranda Paul et Virginie hotel is located.

Veranda Palmar Beach, 3 stars

Veranda Palmar Beach, Mauritius

Two facets. On the one hand, the lively villages located in the heart of large fields of sugarcane, and on the other, the beaches as far as the eye can see, with their transparent lagoon and impeccable sandy beaches. The east of Mauritius is a beautiful paradox. The beauty of its landscapes easily takes your breath away. The itinerary starts at Centre de Flacq, after taking the roads that wind along the coast, where you can soak up the folkloric life of the inhabitants.

Veranda Tamarin, 3 stars

Veranda Grand Baie, Mauritius

Located on the west coast of Mauritius, facing the splendid Tamarin Bay, this mythical hotel with a rustic-chic style joined the group in 2016. Veranda Tamarin is faithful to its historical roots in the village. With its community concept, it encourages guests to share, to live together and to meet with Mauritians.

Veranda Grand Baie, 4 stars

Under renovation, opening planned for early 2023.
